Independent Electrical Distributors
I.E.D. Limited Partnership is comprised of a group of Canadian owned and managed Independent Electrical Distributors having more than 100 branch locations from coast to coast in Canada, servicing customers in all 10 provinces, Yukon and the North West Territories.
The group was founded in 1965 as "Spancan Inc.", renamed as "Seabell Inc." in 1982 and restructured as I.E.D. Limited Partnership in 1993. Some of the founding members such as Eecol Electric Ltd. of Western Canada, Dubo Electrique Ltee. of Montreal and McLoughlan Supplies Ltd. of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia still remain as Limited Partners in I.E.D. Limited Partnership.
Early 1998, I.E.D. Limited Partnership and IMARK Group Inc., a member owned marketing group serving 170 Electrical Distributors in the U.S., formed a North American alliance to further the interests of each Group's Members. This alliance focuses on supporting national and international account opportunities; integrated supply; and sharing of best practices between the organizations and Members.
Today, I.E.D. Limited Partnership provides outstanding service to the consumers of electrical products and equipment, ranging from regional independent electrical contractors to national commercial and industrial enterprises. The export market is also well served by these Independent Electrical Distributors.
