Description
Amp-Trap 2000® AJT fuses provide non-indication as well as a SmartSpot visual open fuse indicator. With advanced material technology the AJT fuse provides IEC Type 2 No Damage protection to main, feeder, and branch circuits, for all types of loads — yet, they require only half the mounting space needed for 600VAC Class RK fuses. AJT’s time-delay characteristics are ideal for handling typical motor and transformer inrush currents, while also providing superior current-limiting ability.
Features
- The Mersen AJT125 is a 125-Amp, 600V AC Class J fuse from the Amp-Trap® 2000 family. It is a SmartSpot® time-delay fuse, engineered to provide "Type 2" No-Damage protection for motor circuits. Its dual-element design allows it to handle the high-current inrush of large industrial motors without nuisance blowing, while still providing rapid protection against short circuits.
- A standout feature of the AJT125 is the SmartSpot visual indicator. If the fuse blows, a high-visibility indicator on the side of the fuse body changes color. This allows Canadian maintenance technicians to identify the faulted circuit instantly in a crowded power distribution panel, significantly reducing downtime in busy manufacturing or mining operations.
- Equipped with a 200kA interrupting rating at 600V AC, the AJT125 can safely clear even the most severe short circuits. This makes it ideal for use in industrial service entrances and feeder circuits across Canada, where the proximity to high-capacity utility transformers requires fuses that won't fail catastrophically during a major electrical event.
- The Class J dimension is significantly smaller than equivalent Class R or Class K fuses. By using the AJT125, Canadian panel builders can reduce the physical size of their disconnect switches and fuse blocks, allowing for more compact "feeder" sections in Motor Control Centers (MCCs) or main distribution boards.
- The AJT125 is highly current-limiting. In the event of a fault, it clears the circuit so fast that it prevents the fault current from reaching its full destructive peak. This effectively lowers the "let-through" energy, which can help reduce the required Arc-Flash PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) levels for workers in Canadian industrial facilities.
