Description
Amp-Trap 2000® AJT fuses provide non-indication as well as a SmartSpot visual open fuse indicator. With advanced material technology the AJT fuse provides IEC Type 2 No Damage protection to main, feeder, and branch circuits, for all types of loads — yet, they require only half the mounting space needed for 600VAC Class RK fuses. AJT’s time-delay characteristics are ideal for handling typical motor and transformer inrush currents, while also providing superior current-limiting ability.

- The Mersen AJT200 is a 200-Amp, 600V AC Class J time-delay fuse. As a flagship member of the Amp-Trap 2000® series, it is a high-capacity, current-limiting fuse designed to protect mains, feeders, and large branch circuits. It is specifically engineered to provide "Type 2" (No Damage) protection for downstream components while occupying significantly less space than older Class RK power fuses.
- This model features Mersen’s SmartSpot® technology. It includes a solid-state visual indicator—a high-visibility orange label that changes appearance when the fuse opens. This "at-a-glance" diagnostic allows maintenance personnel to immediately identify the failed fuse in a large power distribution panel, drastically reducing troubleshooting time and equipment downtime.
- The AJT200 is built with a dual-element design that provides a robust time-delay characteristic. It is designed to handle the massive inrush currents generated by large industrial motor starters and power transformers without nuisance tripping, while still offering ultra-fast response to dangerous short-circuit faults.
- Rated for a standard 200,000 Amps (200kA) interrupting rating at 600V AC—and self-certified for up to 300kA—the AJT200 is one of the most current-limiting fuses on the market. It effectively suppresses the peak "let-thru" current during a fault, which is a critical factor in reducing Arc Flash energy and protecting workers and equipment.
- Unlike smaller "ferrule" style fuses, the 200-amp AJT200 uses blade-style terminals. It measures approximately 5-3/4 inches in length and 1-5/8 inches in diameter. This blade design ensures a high-surface-area, high-pressure connection in fuse clips, which is necessary to manage the heat generated by a constant 200-amp load.
