Tri-Onic TRS-R current-limiting time-delay fuses are engineered for overcurrent protection of motors, transformers, service entrance equipment, feeders and branch-circuits. The time-delay characteristics of the TRS-R safely handle harmless starting currents and inrush currents associated with today's motors and transformers.
Features
- The Mersen TRS100R is a 100-Amp, 600V AC Class RK5 dual-element fuse. It is designed to provide "Type 2" protection for motors and electrical distribution systems, offering a high level of current limitation to protect your infrastructure from the destructive forces of short circuits.
- This fuse features a time-delay characteristic that allows it to handle the temporary high-current inrush typical of large motors and inductive loads. By providing a minimum 10-second delay at 500% of the rated current, the TRS100R eliminates "nuisance blowing" while still providing reliable protection against sustained overloads.
- With a 200,000 Amp Interrupting Rating (AIC), the TRS100R is capable of safely clearing extremely high-energy faults. This makes it an essential safety component for Canadian industrial facilities where high fault currents are present at the service entrance or in main distribution branches.
- As a current-limiting fuse, the TRS100R clears faults so rapidly that it prevents the short-circuit current from reaching its maximum peak. This reduces the thermal and magnetic stress on your cables, breakers, and bus bars, potentially extending the lifespan of your entire electrical system.
- The TRS100R is a "rejection style" fuse. When used with a Class R fuse block, the grooved end-cap ensures that only a Class R fuse can be installed. This prevents the accidental insertion of lower-rated Class H or K fuses, ensuring your system always maintains its intended level of safety and code compliance.
