Description
Homeline miniature circuit breakers are engineered and designed for fast installation and superior circuit protection. Homeline circuit breakers are designed to plug into Homeline load centers to provide circuit protection. This circuit breaker provides standard circuit protection and is HACR rated. This 1 pole circuit breaker with plug in mounting is rated 2A at 12/24 VAC. HOM breakers provide 1 kA breaking capacity. Homeline combination arc fault circuit interrupters provide overload and short circuit protection, plus arc fault protection in accordance with the NEC and UL1699. This breaker has a plug on neutral. The electrical connection is a clamp terminal that will accept 2 wires. The clamp terminal will accept a wire range of 14 AWG to 8 AWG copper or aluminum wire. This circuit breaker has a height of 3.13 inches, a width of 1. inch and depth of 2.98 inches. CHOM Homeline miniature circuit breakers are CSA certified.
Features
- The CHOM120PCAFI is a 20-Amp, single-pole Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) breaker. Its primary job is to detect dangerous electrical arcs—often caused by frayed cords, loose connections, or pierced wires behind walls—and trip the power before a fire can start. The "PC" designation indicates it is a Plug-on Neutral device, which is the modern standard for fast, clean installations.
- Unlike older AFCI breakers that require a white coiled wire to connect to the neutral bar, this breaker features a metal clip on the bottom that snaps directly onto the specially designed neutral bar of a compatible load center. This eliminates gutter clutter, reduces installation time by up to 25%, and makes troubleshooting significantly easier.
- The breaker includes a Time-Saver Diagnostics feature. By following a specific sequence (pressing the "Test" button after a trip), the breaker will use its LED indicator to signal whether the trip was caused by an arc fault, a ground fault (if applicable), or a standard overload. This saves homeowners and electricians hours of diagnostic work.
- Rated for 20 Amps, this breaker is typically used for bedroom, living room, and general-purpose branch circuits as required by modern electrical codes. It is designed exclusively for Square D Homeline (CHOM) load centers. It will not fit into "QO" or older "P" series panels due to the specific bus bar and neutral bar configuration.
- The Schneider CHOM120PCAFI is CSA Certified and meets all current CEC requirements for Arc Fault protection in residential dwellings. It provides "Combination" protection, meaning it guards against both "Parallel" arcs (between wires) and "Series" arcs (along a single wire), providing the highest level of fire prevention available today.
