Features
- The VH363GL is a 100-Amp, 3-pole, 600V AC heavy-duty safety switch designed to serve as a high-performance disconnect for industrial motors and power circuits. Engineered for frequent operation, it provides a visible "gap" when the blades are open, offering the highest level of safety for maintenance personnel working on downstream machinery.
- Part of the new Schneider Electric Square D VisiPact line, this switch features a specialized viewing window. This allows operators to visually verify that the high-conductivity copper blades have physically disconnected from the source without opening the enclosure, significantly reducing the risk of Arc Flash exposure during routine safety checks.
- This unit is housed in a NEMA Type 1 enclosure, which is designed primarily for indoor use in commercial and industrial settings. It protects the internal components from dust, dirt, and light splashing, making it the standard choice for manufacturing floors, mechanical rooms, and warehouses where weatherproofing is not required.
- The "GL" designation confirms that this switch comes factory-installed with a Grounding Lug kit. This simplifies the installation process for electricians by providing a dedicated, code-compliant termination point for the equipment grounding conductor, ensuring a low-impedance path to ground and improved system safety.
- This is a fusible safety switch, meaning it utilizes three internal fuses (sold separately) to provide overcurrent and short-circuit protection. When paired with high-interrupting Class R or Class J fuses, the VH363GL can achieve a Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) of up to 200,000 Amps, shielding sensitive industrial equipment from catastrophic electrical failure.
